Common hops (Humulus lupulus) are a perennial herbaceous climbing plant, whose female blossoms turn into yellowish-green cones in the autumn.
Hop cones are rich in bioactive substances: essential oil, bittering agents humulone and lupulone, resins, tannins, flavonoids, anthocyanins, ascorbic acid, vitamin B1 and others. The pleasantly fragrant hop cones have been used in Lithuania and other countries since ancient times, not only to brew beer but also use as a sedative.
Research has confirmed that hops help you to fall asleep and to maintain the normal activity of the nervous system.
