Gotu kola (Centella asiatica) has been used since ancient times in Indian Ayurveda and in the traditions of the peoples of South-East Asia, as a valuable spice to help maintain vitality, performance and mood. It is therefore also known as “brain food”. These plants have been found to contain several active ingredients, the most important of which are pentacyclic triterpenes (asiaticoside, madecassoside).
Gotu kola has been proven in clinical studies to have a calming effect. Studies have also shown that gotu kola can improve the mood and working memory, and can increase alertness in healthy adults.
