ARCTIC ROOT helps to maintain normal cognitive functions, mental activity and the activity of the nervous system, and acts as an adaptogen.
Arctic root (Rhodiola rosea) is common in mountainous regions of the Arctic, Europe and Asia. These resilient plants are adaptogens and are popular in many Eastern European, Icelandic and Asian cultures. Traditionally, golden root is believed to help maintain good health and a strong performance at high altitudes. Around 140 compounds have now been extracted from the golden root – roots and rhizomes – including monoterpene alcohols and their glycosides, cyanogenic glycosides, aryl glycosides, phenylethanoids, phenylpropanoids and their glycosides, flavonoids, flavonolignans, proanthocyanidins and gallic acid derivatives.
Clinical studies have shown that the use of golden root extract reduces the participants’ fatigue, improves mental performance (especially the ability to concentrate), and improves cognitive functions and the ability to concentrate even in those who feel “burnt out”. It has also been observed in studies that the consumption of golden root can improve endurance in healthy individuals.
